Pennington County Crash Kills 1 Person, Injures 5 Others

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — One woman was killed and five other people were injured in a one-vehicle crash on a Pennington County road.

The Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, about 5 miles south of Rapid City. The driver of a pickup truck lost control, and the vehicle rolled in the ditch.

A 19-year-old female passenger was killed. The male driver, a male passenger and three female passengers suffered minor injuries. They range in age from 16 to 22.

Authorities did not immediately identify any of the victims.

Charges are pending against the driver.
