Country Music history is filled with comedy and, well, characters.

Of course, the most legendary of all, Minnie Pearl.  We also had some great laughs with people like Jerry Clower, Stringbean and so many of the 'Hee Haw' gang, from Junior Samples to Archie Campbell and the rest.

There was a mainstay on the 'Porter Wagoner Show' as well, a guy named Speck Rhodes.

Speck's appearances on Porter's show would span some twenty year.  Back in the 1930's Speck toured the old Vaudeville circuit as part of the Log Cabin Mountaineers.  And perhaps it's not so coincidental that he would join up with the great Porter Wagoner.  After all, they came from the same town, West Plains, Missouri!

Speck passed away in 2000 at the age of 84.

Let's go shopping for a bed with Speck.
