So the question is: Which state has contributed the most to the history of country music?

Well of course, for me the obvious first state that pops into my bald head is Tennessee, After all, it is the home of Nashville, which is the home of country music itself! The Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman, the Country Music Hall of Fame and so many great artist's that hailed from the Volunteer state.

But I was surprised to see that the state of Mississippi has mad huge contribution's to our favorite music, too. I knew Elvis was from Tupelo, but the great state of Mississippi has many, many other legendary artist's that made their way onto the charts and into our hearts.

According to the Associated Press, those artists will be honored in the home of country music, Nashville Tennessee.

(AP) - The Mississippi Country Music Trail will place a marker in Tennessee.

The marker will be placed in Nashville to commemorate the musicians from Mississippi who came to Nashville to make it big in country music. That includes Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty, Bobbie Gentry, Marty Stuart, Jimmie Rodgers, Tammy Wynette, Charley Pride, Moe Bandy and Faith Hill.
