Mickey Guyton got the surprise of her life when she got to meet her idol, Dolly Parton, recently thanks to CBS This Morning. Though Parton likely tops the list of influences of nearly every country artist, in an interview with the news outlet last year, Guyton said Parton was No. 1 in her book, hands down.

“I just love her, and she’s such a bad you-know-what, even now,” she gushed at the time.

Host Gayle King talked to Parton before the ACMs in April and managed to arrange the surprise that brought Guyton to tears. King told Guyton they were in town to do a story on the Grand Ole Opry and wanted to check in with her about what she’d been up to. During the interview, Parton emerged from behind the scenes, and Guyton let out a squeal of epic proportions.

The video shows Guyton bursting into tears as Parton quips, "I’m sorry, did I interrupt somethin’?" before giving the young artist a big hug. It was clear Guyton was beside herself, unable to say anything other than telling the icon how much she loved her.

Parton was gracious as always in response.

“Well, that touches me deep, and I’m just happy I’ve been an inspiration of some sort to you,” she said kindly. Watch the full, heartwarming interaction in the video above.

Guyton accompanied Brad Paisley last year on his Crushin’ It Tour along with Justin Moore, and she was nominated for an ACM Award for New Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2016 event. She recently released a new song called “Why Baby Why” and is working on new music to release on a record later this year.
