ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — A Groton man accused of having 7 pounds of marijuana at his farm and business is set for trial in about a month.

The American News reports that 45-year-old Timothy Thurston's trial on felony drug possession charges has been scheduled to begin June 8.

Thurston was arrested in December after authorities said they found the drugs worth about $50,000 during a raid of his property, along with pipes, scales and about $12,000 in cash.

Defense attorney Manuel deCastro says he has questions about the search and about the motives of a former Thurston girlfriend who called police, leading to the search.

Thurston could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
