It's Severe Weather Awareness week in South Dakota. There will be a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, April 23. Which means most cities in the state will be testing their sirens.

From the National Weather Service:

Drill schedule for South Dakota on Wednesday, April 23rd:

10:00 AM CDT:  Test Tornado Watch Issued by NWS

10:15 AM CDT:  Test Tornado Warning Issued by NWS.  Outdoor sirens activated by Emergency Managers in most cities & counties.

10:30 AM CDT:  The Statewide Drill ends

This is a good time to think about your own severe weather plans. Like, what would your family do if a tornado struck near you, where would you go and does everybody in your family know? Now's a good time to make a family emergency plan and get together a disaster kit.
