ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — A South Dakota teenager who's about to become an Eagle Scout has been honored by Gov. Dennis Daugaard.

Trevor Rau has sold about $25,000 worth of Boy Scout popcorn over a 12-year period to fund his boy scout trips. The American News in Aberdeen reports Daugaard has proclaimed July 20 as Trevor Rau Day in honor of his accomplishments.

During his time in Boy Scouts, Rau also received three 50-mile awards for completing 50 miles biking, hiking and canoeing in one day.

On Sunday, Rau was scheduled to become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank possible in the scouts.
