If It’s Just An Old Worn Out Army Hat, Why Does It Mean So Much?

I got a call while I was on the air the other day and a listener asked if I was familiar with a Bill Anderson song called 'Old Army Hat'.  I wasn't.  But I am now.

This moving video tribute to veteran's is from one of our favorite Hall of Famer's here at Classic Country KXRB, Bill Anderson.  With one of the best voices in country music history, not to mention one of country music's all-time great songwriter's, Bill nail's it with this one.

Perhaps it's the fact that my late Dad was a World War II vet (European theater)...or maybe it's that I've always loved a well written song.  Whatever the reason, this song touched me in a way that not many songs do.
