SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A grocery store in Sioux Falls has fulfilled the request of a local mother seeking a specialized shopping cart designed for children with disabilities.

Andria Bender recently asked one of the city's Hy-Vee stores to provide Caroline's Carts for children like her 3-year-old daughter who can neither walk nor talk due to a genetic abnormality delaying her development. The Argus Leader reports that the business ordered one of the specialized carts, which features a large seat in which children can sit facing their parents while they shop, and recently began offering its use to customers.

Another one of the city's Hy-Vee stores ordered a Caroline's Cart last year for similar reasons.
