Hot Weather on Sunday Shatters Records in the Sioux Falls
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Nearly a dozen major cities in the Dakotas set record-high temperatures for the date on Sunday.
National Weather Service reports show that record highs were set in the North Dakota cities of Grand Forks, Fargo, Jamestown, Dickinson and Bismarck. In South Dakota, Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Aberdeen, Watertown and Pierre all set records.
Temperatures on Sunday reached into the 60s, 70s and 80s in the two states. Rapid City was the hottest, at 84 degrees. The broke not only the city record for March 15 but also the all-time March record of 83 set on March 20, 2007, and March 31, 2012.
Some of the records broken on Sunday dated to the 1920s and 1930s.
