Even among hockey fights, this is nuts.

This is a video of a brawl that broke out during a Netherlands Ice Hockey Association game pitting the Geleen Smoke Eaters and Eindhoven Kemphanen (that's the Fighting Roosters, for those of you without your Dutch-to-English dictionaries handy).

We know, we know -- fights in that prestigious league are a dime a dozen, but what makes this so interesting is that a backup goalie and a ref had to be detained from joining in.

What makes it even more interesting is that the backup goalie and the ref are brothers and they wanted to get involved in the melee because one of the men in the fight is their father.

This should make for some interesting conversation at the next family dinner, don'cha think? It certainly puts a twist on this strange new trend where fans get too involved in the game.

As you can see, both men were held back from intervening. But let's focus on the bigger issue here: what kind of league lets a brother ref in a game where his brother is on one of the teams? If the fight hadn't happened, you get the feeling the goalie would've been all, "Dad, he didn't call the game right. It's so unfair!"
