After four days of RibFest in Sioux Falls, you have that 'festival fever' now, don't you? You just can't wait to get outside for some live music, frosty beverages and great barbecue. The cure for that fever this weekend is in Yankton for their annual RibFest!

There will be lots of vendors at the free event (no admission charge, but of course the food isn't free) Gates open at 11am with live music starting at noon!

There will be an amateur barbecue competition as well and plenty of parking.

While parking is always a concern at events such as this, there is substantial parking in the area. The parking lot behind the Middle School will be available. The City of Yankton will also be converting the open field South of 23rd Street on Douglas into a parking lot for this event. There is also substantial on-street parking in the area.

Here's the music lineup, headlined by the premier tribute band in the upper midwest: Hairball!

The Mitigators 12-1:45pm,
Mrs. Begley & The Boys 2-3:45pm,
The Austin Buescher Band 4-6pm,
Go Figure 6:30-8:30pm
Hairball 8:45-11pm

It looks like they read my Guide To Surviving Festival Season as they have a list of what to bring and what not to bring posted on the event website page:

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING-

Sunscreen
Chapstick
Lawnchairs
Money for Vendors – While the event is free, the vendors are not

PLEASE LEAVE THE FOLLOWING AT HOME-

Pets
Coolers
Tents
Stakes for tarps
Items that will disrupt the viewing of those sitting behind you

Festival season rolls on in Yankton this weekend!
