Former Fugitive Sentenced for Crimes in Lawrence County
DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) — A man who fled after being handcuffed by sheriff's deputies in Meade County earlier this spring has been sentenced to serve seven years in the State Penitentiary for crimes he committed in Lawrence County.
Thirty-two-year old Kerri Nacey spent about four days on the lam in March after deputies unsuccessfully tried to arrest him for violating a court-ordered sobriety program. He eventually was apprehended after a foot chase in Spearfish.
The Black Hills Pioneer reports that Nacey was recently sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary and drug charges in Lawrence County.
Three years of Nacey's sentence were suspended, with the remaining years to run at the same time with sentences handed down for crimes in Meade and Butte counties.
