The NASCAR race was delayed and shortened by rain Sunday. The AAA Texas 500 was supposed to run in the afternoon, but instead was delayed and ran Sunday night.

It was shortened as well, going only 293 laps. This was less than the original distance of 334 laps.

Carl Edwards took control late in the race on lap 258 and roared to victory. The win secured a spot in the final four for the Sprint Cup title.

The only other driver that has a final four spot locked up is last week's Martinsville winner Jimmie Johnson. The remaining two championship slots will be filled in Sunday's race at Phoenix. Catch the coverage on AM1000 KXRB starting at 12:30 PM.

Then the final four will battle for the season championship at Homestead-Miami on Sunday November 20. Take a look at The Chase Grid.

The rest of the top five Sunday were Joey Logano, who led big in the first part of the race, in second. Martin Truex, Jr., who led the third most laps, came across in third, rookie chase Elliott fourth and defending champion Kyle Busch in fifth. Check out where your driver finished.

There's a jumbled Chase picture after Texas with Logano third. He's actually even with Kyle Busch, but holds the tiebreaker based on the second place finish at Texas. Right behind Logano are Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin.

And we must focus on Kevin Harvick who needs to win Sunday at Phoenix to get a shot at the championship. He's the favorite going into this track where he has won six of the last eight races there.
