On Saturday, October 25th, 2014, millions of people across the United States will team up with one goal in mind:  improving the lives of others.  USA Today's Make A Difference Day is the largest national day of community service, proving that one day CAN make a difference.

One way to get involved with Make A Difference Day is to team up with Heirloom Creations and Sara Snuggerud.  Since 2002, Heirloom Creations has been creating, filling and delivering over 10,000 charity gift bags that are full of basic necessity items. The bags have been donated and delivered to Children's Inn, The Banquet and a handful of smaller charities in Sioux Falls.

You can help Make A Difference by donating items such as soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, deodorant and other basic hygiene products that are packed into the charity gift bag. Heirloom Creations is then asking for helpers to help sort and fill the gift bags from 9:30 AM to Noon on Saturday, October 25, 2014.  Donations are welcome through Friday, October 24, 2014.

Every year Heirloom Creations gets between 500 and 1,500 donated charity bags.  But the more bags that are donated, the more bags that can be filled and distributed to those that might need them.  Sewing the charity bags to be donated is a great way to give back to the community.   Click here for a free pattern and to get a detailed list of items needed to fill the charity bags.
