South Dakota's corn and sorghum crops are starting to mature.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop report that 3 percent of the corn crop is mature, near 1 percent at the same time last year and the long-term average of 4 percent. The sorghum crop is 2 percent mature, near 1 percent last year and 3 percent on average.

More than two-thirds of the sorghum crop and more than three-fourths of the corn crop is rated in good to excellent condition.

Harvesting of spring wheat in South Dakota is wrapping up, at 95 percent complete.

Pasture and range conditions statewide are rated 61 percent good to excellent. Stock water supplies are 77 percent adequate to surplus.
