Early Wednesday afternoon, power was lost in southeastern Sioux Falls. Construction crews were deemed the culprit.

About 3,800 customers were without power when construction crews disturbed a power line along South Cliff Avenue. This is in the area of major road construction from 69th Street to 85th Street.

The power was disrupted for approximately 45 minutes. Not just residences were affected as reports of darkened traffic signals stretched all the way to 49th and Cliff to the north and 57th and Tomar Road to the west.

Xcel Energy was quickly to the scene to restore power.
