CMT will become "Cash Music Television" this week when the network kicks off its week long tribute to the legacy of Johnny Cash.

The special week is timed to the 12th anniversary of the Cash's passing on September 12 and will culminate with the premiere of Johnny Cash: American Rebel, an original documentary told through the unique perspective of his greatest songs.

The week long event will be hosted by Kid Rock and will feature back-to-back throwback videos, a Saturday morning video block hosted by Kid Rock, the ultimate country artist countdown and an all-new CMT Hot 20 Countdown inspired by the Man in Black.

CMT will kick off their week long tribute on September 8 when they air, Walk The Line, the 2005 Oscar-winning film starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon that mirrored Cash's life. Walk The Line will air at 9 PM ET with encore presentation at 12 AM ET on CMT.
