Brian Urlacher to the Vikings? [UPDATED]
Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has turned down a $1.6 million dollar offer to stay with the team in which he’s been the backbone for 13 seasons.
ImagesAccording to Sporting News, a source close to Urlacher said he’s “leaning on staying in the NFC North.
It would make sense. The Vikings use the same defensive set-up that Urlacher menaced opposing teams’ offenses for years. The Vikings have a pair of good linebackers in Chad Greenway and Erin Henderson but need a third. Could Urlacher be the key?
On the other side of the opening coin flip, rantsports.com reports as of late Tuesday night that Urlacher is not part of the Vikings 2013-2014 plans.
One thing is certain. He can fire up his team like no other.
It is also reported from the SunTimes that Urlacher was also in talks with the Denver Broncos.
Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher sent out a tweet yesterday, saying that he’s decided to retire from pro football.
He was an eight-time Pro Bowler, Defensive Player of the Year in 2005, and will most likely be in the Hall of Fame at some point.
But, most amazingly, he spent all of his 13 years in the league with one team. (ESPN)
