Brett Eldredge is quickly becoming one of the top country music artists in the United States, and now he's bringing his show to the Sioux Empire Fair.

Eldredge, in his young career, has already reached number one on the country airplay charts three times with "Don't Ya" "Mean to Me" and "Beat of the Music." Recently I had the chance to talk with Eldredge and asked him what he considers his launching point of his career.

"I would probably say when 'Don't Ya' came out. Once it really hit, it was my big hit and launched me into another level of my career. It's been an amazing experience."

Currently he is touring around the country performing at multiple fairgrounds. Previous to this, he had a huge stage experience with Taylor Swift on her RED Tour in 2013.

"I was the very first person to perform on that tour. It was pretty cool, and she's always been awesome. She's very down to earth for being the biggest star on earth."

His favorite part of performing this summer at fairgrounds isn't the amount of funnel cakes he could eat (he ate too many as a kid so they aren't as good anymore), but the atmosphere of the small town gatherings.

"I would probably say the feeling of small town folks coming around and meeting together. Regular good people, it reminds me of being a kid. It reminds me of my childhood."

Eldredge previously performed in Sioux Falls at the Sioux Falls Arena in 2014. He opened for Gary Allan as part of the South Dakota Cattlemen's Foundation's Prime Time Gala. Multiple family members attended the show and he considers Sioux Falls to be a beautiful place.

"It was my first time ever in Sioux Falls and it poured down rain that day. I loved the atmosphere, but hope it doesn't rain so I can really check it out. Can't wait to get back there."

The Sioux Empire Fair welcomes Brett Eldredge to the stage on Friday, August 7. In terms of what to expect from his show, Eldredge says it's all about the fan connection.

"They give me life and gives me the reason to get up everyday. [My show] is full of energy. I want you to chill, dance, cry, laugh, and have a good time. It's my job to make sure you do that and I'll make sure you do."
