A car that was the pinnacle of luxury back in the 1950s and 1960s is returning. Ford Motor Company has announced they're bringing back the Lincoln Continental after a 13 year absence. The last Continental rolled off the assembly line in 2002.

When I say it was the best cruising car EVER - I'm speaking from experience. When my wife was a Pharmaceutical Rep and on the road a lot, she drove a Continental. It was one of those cars where if you got behind the wheel, you were never in any hurry to get to your destination; it was truly the 'Lap of Luxury.' Would I buy another one - in a heart beat!

In order to generate interest, all this week a concept version of the full size car will be on display at the New York Auto Show. To take a peek at the car, click here. The new model version of the Continental is expected to go on sale sometime next year.

A little history on the Lincoln Continental. The car was named after President Abraham Lincoln. Over the years, the car has been the chosen mode of transportation for Presidents ranging from JFK all the way to Ronald Regan.
