ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Officials say a low turnout at a job fair in northeastern South Dakota is not surprising with the low unemployment rate.

The Aberdeen Area Job Fair Thursday attracted 160 people looking for work, compared to 330 people at the fall event in 2013.

Dan Thielsen, manager of the state labor office in Aberdeen, tells the Aberdeen American News (http://bit.ly/1uLGsis) that it's the lowest turnout he can remember. He says the fair has brought in as many as 700 people.

Thielsen says the unemployment rate is below 2.5 percent and that makes it's a "seeker's market" in the Aberdeen area.
