10th Annual Run 4 Food Helps The Banquet & Gives You More Room For Turkey!
Run for fitness. Run for fun. Run for food? Yes, the 10th Annual Run 4 Food is happening, once again, on Thanksgiving morning at The Banquet. It was started by a couple of people who were out for a jog early one Thanksgiving and decided to drop in to the Banquet and make a donation. Ten years later it is bigger than ever.
You simply make a freewill donation to The Banquet for their feeding mission, which served over 160,000 meals last year to our less fortunate citizens, and join a lot of other great people to run, bike or walk a variety of routes downtown.
The Run 4 Food slogan is: "No Shirt, no clock, no frills. Your prize is knowing you can make a difference". And you can do that even if you're not getting up early on Thanksgiving, donning a turkey or pilgrim costume and joining in the fun. The Banquet always needs volunteers, to serve meals and to help with other activities, like Project S.O.S. or Hoodies & Footies.
The Banquet can also lighten your workload for Thanksgiving by baking your pumpkin pies for you. They'll be available Thanksgiving morning from 8 to 11 a.m., for a suggested $10 dollar donation, so call now at 605-335-7066 and reserve your pies.
