If you own a Dodge Ram pickup truck you may receive notice of a recall. It was issued Friday (May 12) by Fiat Chrysler due to software bug that may disable airbags in the event of an accident or rollover.

According to USA Today:

The problem relates to a software error that may incorrectly determine a sensor has failed in the event of a "significant underbody impact," thus disabling side air bags and seat belt pretensioner deployment. Those safety measures "would then be unavailable in the event of a vehicle rollover," Fiat Chrysler said.

Authorized dealers will receive instructions on how to fix the problem.

The Ram trucks in question are the 2013-16 Ram 1500 and 2500 pickups, and 2014-2016 Ram 3500 pickups.

The issue may have been linked to one death and two injuries.

Check the official Mopar website to see if your vehicle has been affected by this recall. If so, check with your dealer immediately.
