Each winter Sioux Falls spends at least a few days below zero and it's always good to review cold weather safety. Here's some great information from the CDC.

There is a WINTER STORM WARNING in effect until Noon on Wednesday for Sioux Falls and SE South Dakota, as well as portions of Nebraska and Iowa.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect from 6:00 PM Tuesday night until 3:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.

Blizzard Warning Thursday to impact travelers with whiteout conditions, deep wind chills, and snow. Rum and a fireplace wouldn't suck during this thing.

Due to the dangerous wind chills forecast for the next few days, Great Bear Ski Valley will be closed until Thursday at the earliest.

Roads are causing some slow going this morning around Sioux Falls. Here are some of the road conditions people are reporting around the tri-state.

Great Bear Recreation Park announced that they will be closed all day today, January 24. The closure is due to the extreme cold and wind, obviously.

Wind chill advisory also shuts down Great Bear Recreation Park.

If you must travel through the winter months make the necessary preparations and that includes having a winter car kit.
