SIOUX FALLS - A new school in South Dakota's largest city will be named for one of the state's most influential politicians.

Family members of the late Sen. George McGovern say his cremated remains will be buried early next year in a historic Washington, D.C., cemetery.

McGovern, who lost a 1972 presidential bid to Richard M. Nixon, died Sunday at a Sioux Falls hospice. He was 90.
