(AP) - Some farmers and cattle ranchers are upset that Joan Jett will be on the float representing South Dakota in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Jett is a vegetarian and animal rights advocate. She'll ride on the float promoting tourism and Mount Rushmore. The cattle industry makes up a huge part of South Dakota's economy.

The head of the state's Cattlemen's Association says it's "a huge blunder." A tourism official says none of the artists the state wanted on the float were available or willing to appear. Macy's picked Jett.
