You don't have to have a remodeling project in mind to appreciate this weekend's events being sponsored by the Homebuilder's Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE). For that matter, you don't even have to be a homeowner to appreciate the work you'll be seeing.

One of the best things about these showcases is the opportunity to dream about what you'd like to do or see, in and outside of your home, when you finally have one. If you are already a homeowner, this event is a great chance to get ideas and to speak to contractors, builders, landscapers, and other artisans.

Tickets are only $5, are available at the entrance of any of the projects, and get you into every one of them. Proceeds from the ticket sales go toward the HBASE Care Foundation which funds community service products like the annual Sioux Falls "Repair Affair", buys tools for school shop programs, and even provides scholarships for students planning on going into the building trades.

The Showcase of Remodeled Homes features residential homes that have recently undergone remodeling. The Outdoor Living Showcase spotlights outdoor home projects and landscaping updates. All the homes in both events will be open for viewing this Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, from Noon to 5 PM.

If you'd like to take photos, please ask the representative at the home for permission. Food, beverages, and of course- - shoes, are not allowed inside the homes.

Social distancing and masks are encouraged for these events and due to the limited number of people who can be allowed into the homes at one time, the HBASE is asking that you leave the kids home. You can see the complete list of COVID-19 guidelines on the HBASE website. For more information, call 605-361-8322.
