Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson have one very special performance on tap for Wednesday night (Nov. 13). The two Texans will come together at the 2019 CMA Awards for a performance of the song "Rainbow Connection."

Musgraves and Nelson's collaboration was announced in late October, but Good Morning America revealed more details about their performance on Monday morning (Nov. 11). The song, written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher, comes from 1979's The Muppet Movie. Sung by Kermit the Frog in the film, the song became a Top 30 Billboard Hot 100 hit, and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

For her part, Musgraves is excited about the performance, calling it "a [Willie] full circle moment" on Instagram while sharing video of herself performing the song as a child. The duet will be Nelson's first time performing on the CMA Awards since 2012.

Musgraves and Nelson are good friends, and have teamed up musically a number of times before, including for a duet on Nelson's song "Are You Sure" on Musgraves' sophomore album, Pageant Material. "He has this really unique ability to unite ... It’s really kind of unlike any other artist I can think of: Underdogs, outliers, Republicans, rappers, presidents — everyone loves Willie!" Musgraves said of Nelson at a February event in his honor.

In addition to Musgraves and Nelson, Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn and Brothers OsborneLady Antebellum and pop star Halsey and many more will take the stage during the 2019 CMA Awards. The annual awards show will air on ABC at 8PM ET, live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
