Sam Hunt Set to Play at This Summer’s Great Jones County Fair!

We can finally make the concert lineup for the 2025 Great Jones County Fair in Monticello complete! All that is left is the Thursday, July 17th concert. Taking the stage that night will be country star Sam Hunt!

Sam Hunt moved to Nashville to pursue country music after his dream of playing in the NFL came to an end. Hunt played college football at Middle Tennessee State and UAB. He even had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs. But when his football career fizzled, Hunt turned to music. In 2008 he moved to Nashville. Several years later he was writing hit songs for some of today's biggest country stars. Sam wrote the Kenny Chesney hit song 'Come Over', 'Cop Car' for Keith Urban, and 'We Are Tonight' for Billy Currington.

But Sam Hunt would really shake up country music when he released his own music. His debut album Montevallo was released in October of 2014. It debuted at #1 on the country albums chart. It would land Hunt five hit songs including 'Leave the Night On', 'Take Your Time', 'House Party', 'Break Up in a Small Town', and 'Make You Miss Me'.

In 2017, Hunt released the song that would become his biggest hit to date. 'Body Like a Back Road' was the debut single for Hunt's sophomore album Southside. It spent an amazing 34 weeks at number one on the Hot Country Songs Chart by Billboard. It peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 all-genre chart making Hunt a crossover star.

Hunt continues to put out hit songs including 'Kinfolks', 'Hard to Forget', '23', and his current number one single 'Outskirts'. And Hunt will bring all of those amazing songs with him to this summer's Great Jones County Fair!
