Iowa is Home to Some of the Best Diners in the Country

When it comes to diners, Des Moines has some of the highest-rated in the nation!

Back in June, the website Upgraded Points published a list of the 'U.S. Cities With the Highest-Rated Diners.' Before we get to the results, here's how they came up with the rankings:

"To determine the cities with the best diners, we scraped thousands of diner Yelp listings from the 100 largest metro areas in the U.S. and averaged their star ratings out of 5. To ensure diners were the focus of the study, we only used establishments where “diner” was their featured function on Yelp."

Based on those factors, Des Moines averaged 4.15 out of 5 stars, making it number TWO city in the nation! According to the Des Moines Register, Des Moines' top diner is Clyde's Fine Diner at 111 E Grand Ave. The official Facebook page says that they offer "upscale American cuisine, reimagined diner classics, [and] craft cocktails." It has 4.5-stars on Yelp thanks to 98 reviews. Other Des Moines diners mentioned by the Des Moines Register include Drake Diner, Little Brother, and Chelsie’s Courtyard Diner.
