Jeffers, MN (KROC-AM News)- One driver was killed and another was injured following a crash at a rural Minnesota intersection.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash. The fatality happened shortly before 10:15 Monday morning. 

The State Patrol responded to the crash at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 71 and Minnesota Hwy. 30 in southwest Minnesota’s Cottonwood County.

A westbound pick-up and a southbound SUV collided in the intersection, which is about 45 miles northeast of Worthington, according to the state crash report

81-year-old Jerry Lee Evers of Comfrey, MN has been identified as the driver of the pick-up. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

54-year-old Scott Bruce Burdorf of Montevideo, MN was driving the SUV. He was taken from the fatal crash scene to a hospital in nearby Windom for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries. 

Evers was not buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the deadly crash, the report says.
