Yes, I know that people are still getting Covid here and there and the illness still exists.  But thinking that it can't still derail events around the area is apparently just not realistic.

That brings me to anyone that had planned on going to see some of the shows that are at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre.  Right now, the show that just began this week is White Christmas. And the show had to cancel some of it's shows when it had been open less than a week.

Many members of the cast had come down with COVID 19.  At first, they did dip into the pool of understudies and crew members, then made the decision to cancel a few shows to let the cast recover from their illness.

This may be one of the first times something has come to a halt because of a COVID-19 outbreak since the pandemic shut-downs.

(they) have contacted ticket buyers with options on how to move forward, but that's not always easy in theater. "White Christmas" is already sold out for performances until Jan. 7, with the exception of limited tickets for its New Year's Eve performance.

Wondering if eventually, if Chanhassen cannot find a way to reschedule the shows for people who had to miss out, rhey will just be a situation where they will have to refund the ticket prices, or allow them to choose another performance of a different show.

It's unfortunate, but understandable that a sickness like this would easily spread through a theatre company.  Everyone is working so closely with everyone else.  It would be tough to stay healthy in that environment when someone does get sick
