Report: Walgreens to Close Six Stores in Iowa and Minnesota
For the last few weeks, we've known that Walgreens was planning on shutting the doors at about 25 percent of its 8,600 stores across America.
Now we know which locations could be impacted.
According to what seems to be a leaked list on uSearch.com, over the next three years, more than 2,100 stores in 32 states may be on the chopping block. Illinois looks like the hardest hit with 11 closings. There has not been an official announcement from Walgreens as of yet.
In the Tri-State area, Iowa and Minnesota may be closing six stores that fall into the ‘underperforming’ category:
Iowa
- 1805 N Brady St, Davenport
- 606 Walnut St, Des Moines
Minnesota
- 600 County Hwy 10, Blaine
- 1274 Town Centre Dr, Eagan
- 4916 France Ave S, Edina
- 1112 Civic Center Dr NW, Rochester
The closings will leave Iowa with 35 locations. Minnesota will maintain 148 stores.
All of South Dakota’s current 18 locations will remain open.
