South Carolina Man Missing for Years Found in South Dakota
Eleven days before Christmas in 2018, then 25-year-old David Collin Barber left a relative's home in Pacolet, South Carolina, and disappeared.
Officially listed as missing
A year later, when he hadn't resurfaced, authorities officially listed him as a missing person.

From cold case to closed case
Another five-plus years passed before authorities in South Carolina's Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit reviewed Barber’s file last month and discovered some new leads as to Barber's whereabouts.
That new intel confirmed that Barber had been living on the West Coast since 2019, but was now calling somewhere in South Dakota home.
This week, law enforcement officials in whatever town that is performed a wellness check on Barber, who reported that he is 'doing well.'
No other information was provided as to how he ended up in the Mount Rushmore State or why he vanished from South Carolina six-and-a-half years ago.
Case closed.
