
Traffic Troubles Ahead With Major Closures In Northeast Sioux Falls
Driving in Northeast Sioux Falls has already been a nightmare for the past few months, with the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Arrowhead Parkway closed until the fall of 2026 for a major renovation of the two roadways.
Now, a bad situation is about to get worse, as one of the main roads drivers have been taking to get around the work will itself be closing temporarily.

Where is the Closure?
Beginning Monday (July 7), East 26th Street will also be out of service for drivers as a new construction project gets underway.
What Work is Being Done?
26th Street, between Veterans Parkway and Six Mile Road, will be closed to allow crews to rehab a culvert.

The Timeline
This work is expected to be completed by the beginning of August.
Detours in Effect
Drivers will be directed to take detours at Madison Street to the North or 41st Street to the South during the closure.
