45th Annual Sioux Falls ‘St. Patrick’s Day Parade’ Details
In theory, the 45th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is scheduled for this Saturday at 2:00 PM in downtown Sioux Falls. That's providing the Luck of the Irish holds out and Mother Nature doesn't have a ground blizzard going by that time.
Right now, the weather for Saturday doesn't look all that ideal for an outdoor parade, but, we're a hardy bunch here in the Sioux Empire. I'm sure with a couple of green beers in us, we can power through if Mother Nature's little snow event doesn't end up putting the kibosh on our wee bit of fun.

If you're planning on being Irish this Saturday, here's what you need to know about the parade:
First and foremost, you'll want to locate your green coat, cause you're gonna need it. By the looks of the weather forecast, they'll be more white than green this St. Patty's Day in Sioux Falls.
Begosh and begorrah, the first event of the day gets underway at 11:00 AM with the painting of the shamrock at 9th Street and North Phillips Avenue. Streets adjacent to the parade route will close beginning at 1:30 PM. Paradegoers should also know that parking will not be allowed on Phillips Avenue starting late Saturday morning.
Sioux Falls is also planning a "Lucky 7’s Run Series" that will feature a 1-mile, 5-mile, and 5K run kicking off on parade day. That series gets up and running with the 1-mile race beginning at 1:55 PM on South Phillips Avenue at 12th Street.
The parade itself will begin at 2:00 PM and run along Phillips Avenue from 13th Street to 5th Street.
In addition to the parade festivities, Dakota News Now reports that multiple landmarks throughout downtown Sioux Falls will be lit up green throughout the entire weekend in honor of St. Patty's Day.
Some of the Sioux Falls landmarks include Falls Park, the Arc of Dreams, the Washington Pavilion, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Old Courthouse Museum, various bank buildings in the downtown district, and other structures.
