If you fancy yourself to be somewhat of an artist, the city of Sioux Falls is now giving you a chance to show off your creativity on a new public art wall.

On Monday, (May 12) the city announced that it will be making a public art wall available to local artisans. It's all part of a new art initiative called: The Art Walls.

Dakota News Now reports that the new public art walls will be located on the east side of the 300 Building at 6th Street and Dakota Avenue.

The initiative is designed to showcase unique murals by artists of all ages.

According to Dakota News Now, there is a free application permit process required for those interested in participating.

The hope behind The Art Walls initiative is that it will inspire area artists to create murals that reflect personal expression and community issues. Thus, turning old grungy-looking downtown alley walls into evolving galleries of creativity.

The various pieces of artwork will rotate over time, providing a dynamic and ever-evolving cultural experience in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls.
