The Levitt at the Falls will be expanding soon thanks to some very kind contributors.

This week the Levitt began to lay out its expansion plans after reaching its 5 million dollar fundraising milestone.

The key component to the expansion will be the new "Sweetman Atrium.” Dakota News Now is reporting, that Dick and Kathy Sweetman helped to make that possible through the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation.

The Sweetman Atrium expansion will include a new programming space, staff offices, production and equipment storage, dressing rooms, and an updated green room.

According to Dakota News Now, an additional gift from the Dakota State University Foundation will go to name the 2,600-square-foot programming space. This room will be used as an event space, and it will also allow the Levitt to feature programming year-round.

John and Jeanelle Lust have also made an in-kind donation to benefit the Levitt. Their gift will be used to name a second stage on the south side of the venue.

The plan for the "Lust Family Second Stage" will be to hold additional outdoor programming and events space that will allow for more flexibility within the overall expansion.

Dakota News Now reports that Sioux Falls Park and Recreation is partnering with the Levitt on this new 4.5 million dollar expansion, which will be gifted to the city upon its completion.

The remaining money left over from the 5 million dollar fundraising effort will be appropriated for things like new lighting, sound, and video equipment.

The Levitt will be packed full of entertainment again during the 2025 season.
