‘Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars’ to Return in October
If you have spent any time in front of a TV lately, you've no doubt seen the numerous promotional commercials for the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars."
The 2023 version of the popular choreographed dance show makes its return to ABC this Fall on Tuesday night, (September 26).
Soon, you'll be able to watch celebrities like Tyson Beckford, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Mraz, Mira Sorvino, Jamie Lyn Spears, Barry (Greg Brady) Williams, and even legendary Minnesota Vikings running back, Adrian Peterson, to name just a few cut the rug each week in front of a group of renowned ballroom experts in their pursuit of the Dancing with the Stars title.
I also see that Sioux Falls is getting to roll out its own version of Dancing with the Stars once again, after a 3-year-hiatus.
"Daning with the Sioux Falls Stars" makes its return to the Sioux Empire on Saturday night, (October 7) at The District.
A group of local celebrities, along with some seasoned dance professionals from around the area are busy preparing right now for this unique, memorable event that raises both awareness and money to help improve the lives of people here in the Sioux Empire who are affected by mental illness.
What can you expect to see that evening?
A night filled with incredible entertainment. Word has it, those in attendance will be wowed with performances like you have never seen before.
2023 marks the 5th year "Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars" has been in existence. COVID-19 put the performance on the shelf temporarily, but it's back now, and those involved promise it will be better than ever.
The evening kicks off with a social hour filled with hors d’oeuvres, fun signature cocktails, and delightful desserts.
Phyllis Arends, with Empire Mental Health Support, told Dakota News Now, that the objective of the Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars event is to combine music and movement in a dance performance that will benefit mental health.
The funds raised that evening will allow Empire Mental Health Support to get more support group programs going for mental illness patients and their families. The money will also be used for public education and advocacy services.
Tickets for this year's event are still available. There's general admission as well as VIP seating that night.
