Florida Teacher Arrested for What She Did to a Kid in Her Classroom

It's back-to-school time here in the states, which means new routines and new core memories for the kids as they put the backpacks on and stroll into their classrooms nationwide.

Not only is every school different in their teaching stylings, so is every teacher. Some teachers discipline kids in effective ways, and some do not.

Florida Teacher Arrested for What She Did to a Kid in Her Classroom

A Florida teacher was arrested over the weekend after pictures surfaced of her putting a 3-year-old boy in a headlock with her legs, while she read a book to the rest of the class.

According to an arrest affidavit from WESH 2, Vilma Otero, 59, is facing child abuse charges after a paraeducator in her classroom witnessed the incident and submitted a Florida Department of Children and Families report.

The paraeducator was so shocked to see what was happening that they snapped a photo for evidence.

The boy is 3 years old and has autism. When the police asked him what had happened, he was able to tell deputies he "got in trouble at school" and said "she hurt me."

Deputies say they also found slight redness on the child’s neck.

It's interesting because Otero isn't a newbie when it comes to teaching. She has been teaching for over 30 years and even specializes in teaching children with special needs.

The teacher is facing a felony charge of child abuse without great bodily harm, according to the local news source.

One thing is for certain, after facing these charges, Otero most likely won't be teaching again.
