An opportunity to provide 9-12 grade students with career development and planning information. The events will be some of the most comprehensive career fairs and conventions for South Dakota high school students. The events will include booths with Board of Regent Schools, Technical schools, community colleges, military options, trade schools, apprenticeships, and employers looking to hire students right out of high school. Throughout the day there will be workshops on a variety of topics including, but not limited to:

  • Financial Aid
  • Standardized Testing
  • Resume & Cover Letter Building
  • LinkedIn
  • Technical School Stigmas
  • Applying to the Military Academies
  • Social Media Safety/ Impacts
  • Adulting 101

There will also be opportunities for students to get one on one career counseling from a Department of Labor employee and also do mock interviews with professionals in the HR world.

The event is free to attend for 9-12 graders, parents, and educators. It is being put on in partnership with the Board of Regents, the Dept of Education, the Department of Labor and Regulation, USD Community College, and BHSU Rapid City Campus.
