There's a story I first saw on Facebook a few days back about certain fast foods you're never suppose to order.  In fact, the story has even been picked up by a few of the "legit" news organizations.

It all started when Reddit posed a question on its website asking fast food workers what items we should never order while at their restaurants and why not?

Needless to say, they got quite a few interesting responses.

I'll be honest with you, being the germ-a-fob that I am, it kind of weirded me a little when I read the list.  But then, thankfully, common sense set in.

So, I decided to check with the city and see if I could get the most recent health code scores on the various restaurants in Sioux Falls.

After carefully looking over the list, all I've got to say is - I'm dang glad I live where I do!

The first thing you'll notice when looking at the report is the majority of our restaurants have scores in the 90s, that's based on a scale where a perfect score is 100.

The lowest score I could find here in Sioux Falls was an 81.  But after digging a little deeper, I discovered that an 81 in other parts of the country is actually considered a very high score.

So, what did I learn from this little assignment?  Two things:  Don't believe everything you read on social media, and don't automatically assume that just because something is happening in another part of the country it's also happening here.

I have to say, reading the report actually put my fears to rest.  If anything, it reinforced the fact that our dining establishments are among the cleanest and the best in the country!

So, go ahead and eat out.  You have nothing to worry about.

By the way, here's a link if you're interested in checking it out the Sioux Falls scores for yourself.
