A couple weeks ago I wrote a story about Coyotes in Sioux Falls. At the time I was wondering if it was possible. Turns out it is.

If you look at the map its not that hard to fathom. We live right along the Big Sioux River, and you don't have to drive far to be in farm country. Still, when I was out early the other morning I heard a chorus of what sounded like a pretty large group of coyotes.

So, I wrote my original story and then the comments started coming in. People who live in northern Sioux Falls have long heard the coyotes, those living by Willow Run golf course, same thing. Harrisburg and other communities chimed in, yep, our place too.

Then, Carl Bootsma sent me these two photos and it confirmed what I thought I heard. In fact, these could be the ones that were making the noise the morning I heard it.

Here's what Carl said in the e-mail he sent me.

Here's your proof of coyote's on the East side of Sioux Falls.  After hearing what I thought were coyote's behind our house and then reading your article I decided to put out one of my game camera's and sure enough I got some great pictures.  The crazy thing is we have a dog in his kennel at night behind our house.  You can barely see it but on one of the pictures you can see the eyes of a second coyote roaming our yard. We live just off  hwy 11 and 26th Street.  Date and time stamps are correct.

How about you? Do you have any trail cam pics of wildlife in your back yard? If you do, I'd love to see them and share with our readers here!  E-mail comments and story ideas to jdcollins@kikn.com.

Not sure when this one was taken, or where in Sioux Falls. I found this on B102.7's Facebook Page. Tim Phillips of Sioux Falls says,

True. Large one here roaming in the middle of the day. Appeared to have no real fear of humans/not skittish at all.
