The question is real... Could Greg McDermott be leaving Creighton for Ohio State?

Ohio State parted ways with Thad Matta and now a Big10 coaching job is open in an unusual time on the basketball calendar.

So could that opening be the next stop for the very successful McDermott?

According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, Ohio State has offered him the job and are awaiting his answer.

While at Creighton, he has made them into a school that people assoicated with college basketball, including four trips to the NCAA Tournament in seven seasons.

Prior to being the head coach at Creighton, McDermott has been the head coach at Wayne State, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and Iowa State.

If he decides to leave for TOSU, it will come with a significant pay raise, more resources and much more pressure.

His last stint didn't go so well in a Power 5 at Iowa State but with his most recent success including a transition to the Big East, McDermott should be just fine.
