RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — The Rapid City Civic Center Resolution Task Force is hiring a consulting firm to evaluate architectural deficiencies in the Barnett Arena related to the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Rapid City Journal reports that Meet the Challenge is a consulting firm specializing in helping organizations with responsibilities under the ADA to fulfill obligations mandated by the law.

Meet the Challenge was a subcontractor to FourFront Design, who conducted an updated facility survey of the Barnett Arena in 2012 for $22,800. The new analysis will cost about $15,000.

Meet the Challenge says that installing required wheelchair spaces, companion seats and designated aisle seats will be among the most significant challenges. The consulting firm will recommend alternate solutions when ADA fixes are impossible.
