More pieces of the ever-expanding burglary puzzle have been put into place with two arrests on Wednesday.

The Minnehaha County Warrant Task Force collected two more key figures after surrounding a house at 309 N. Lewis on two different occasions. Roger Stoebner of Sioux Falls was captured in the first pass and Troy William Scott was taken later.

Sgt. Pete Jaros of the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says Scott was living at the trailer house in Lennox that was searched last week where stolen property was found. Police also placed Stoebner at the trailer house.

Jaros also confirmed that Scott and Stoebner are linked to Micah Buum and Tanner Dvorak who were previously arrested with maybe a handful more people involved. He simultaneously invites and warns those who are perpetrating these crimes.

"If you are running with these guys and want to visit, come down to the Law Enforcement Center and speak with detectives and get out ahead of this thing. Otherwise we'll come out and find you."

Tens of thousands of dollars have been stolen from various sites in three different states with Jaros pinpointing storage units as the likeliest targets.

"It's not uncommon for these guys to cut a lock off and put their own lock on it. Management passes by sees the lock and think, 'Everything's okay.' If you have a storage unit, check on it. Make sure somebody's not living in it or that you've been victimized."

Jaros describes this string of related burglaries as one of the largest he’s seen during his 25 years in Sioux Falls. "They've been at it pretty hard."

Also of concern are the firearms collected in these cases with altered serial numbers and illegally shortened barrels.
