In her 40 years on the planet, Diane Kruger has seen a lot.

As a child growing up in Algermissen, Germany, Kruger had aspirations of becoming a ballerina, and was eventually accepted into the Royal Ballet School in London. But after an injury ended her ballet career prematurely, Kruger switched gears, moved to Paris, and turned her energy to modelling.

By age 16, she began a career that would eventually put her on the runway for designers like Marc Jacobs, D&G and Sonia Rykiel, and later on the covers of Vogue Paris, Marie Claire, and Cosmopolitan.

Ten years later she was bitten by the acting bug, and has gone on to star in movies like Troy (2004), National Treasure (2004), National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007), Inglourious Basterds (2009), Mr. Nobody (2009), and Unknown (2011).

This year, she is currently in theaters alongside Bryan Cranston, Benjamin Bratt, and John Leguizamo in the crime drama, The Infiltrator.

As part of the press leading up to the release of the film, Kruger was profiled in the 'Celebrity Travel' section of the August issue of Conde Nast Traveler. When asked about the most exotic location acting ever took her, she replied:

I’m not American, let’s keep that in mind. For the second National Treasure, we shot at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. I’d never seen that side of the United States.

When you speak German, English, and French fluently, are buddies with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, and divide your time between Paris, Vancouver and Los Angeles, you know exotic.

Who are we to argue with her?
