Yankton Apartment Complex Damaged by Fire; Family Displaced

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — No one was hurt in a fire that prompted the evacuation of an apartment complex in Yankton.

Deputy Fire Chief Larry Nickles tells the Daily Press & Dakotan that the Wednesday afternoon blaze started in a laundry area. He estimated the damage at about $45,000.

The Red Cross is helping one family that was displaced by the fire.
