It’s not everyday that a legend like wrestling icon Dan Gable makes his way through the little town of Canton, SD. But on Wednesday, April 8th that will happen as the Canton-Inwood Area Health Foundation will welcome him to their “Sports Banquet.”

As a competitor, Dan Gable won the 1971 World Championship, a 1972 Gold Medal and racked up a 182-1 combined prep and college record. As a coach he continued to have tremendous success by coaching the University of Iowa to 15 NCAA titles (9 consecutive), 7 perfect seasons and coached the US Olympic team in 1980, 1984 and 2000.

He took few minutes to talk with ESPN 99.1's Jeff Thurn during Overtime.
